Chapter 2057 - Paving the Way with Grand-Orient, Breaking the Formation with Fiendsky
Tianming bringing the ship’s core outside would cause its controls to stop functioning. It would only be able to repeat the same motions it was making before. In other words, he had given up on the ship and was letting it automatically attack. In this state, the ship could only act as a shield. The fact that it could still continue operating at all instead of plummeting to the ground once nobody was controlling it was impressive in itself.
"Are you going to bet your life on this?" Ying Huo and the rest knew what he was planning and felt their blood pumping.
"Blood Abyss Wargod!" Before Tianming was a gigantic mass of metal covered in complex divine celestial patterns and boundless nova source. The more energy it gathered, the more terrifying it seemed. The stormy nova source also heavily brushed against Tianming. A normal sovereign would have been torn apart by the rampant energies long ago. Tianming was only holding on because of the ardent faith of his many followers. Like a speck of dust, he weaved through the storm and reached the surface of the eyeball.
"Are you insane?!" Wudi and the rest lost it when they learned what he was doing. How could a single person face an entire divine astralship? The Blood Abyss Wargod himself wasn’t aware of Tianmings actions, since the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb’s biting attacks hadn’t stopped. It didn’t seem like it was attacking on autopilot at all.
"Scram!" The eyeball unleashed a burst toward the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, covering it with a bloody light that took off many of its scales. A deafening, thunderous boom shook the surface of the sun and caused some tremors and the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb plunged into the flaming clouds like a wounded beast.
"Brilliant!""Impressive showing, Admiral!"
The rest of the specter sovereigns cheered at the sight. Incapacitating the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb without completely destroying it was the ideal result. They weren’t trying to exterminate Tianming, after all.
"Admiral, your senses are always right. You knew that weird lake was definitely something he would try to protect, so by attacking it, Li Tianming would have no choice but to stop you with his ship."
"How ingenious!"
"As long as the divine astralship is destroyed, Tianming will be hard pressed to escape. Once the Eye of the Blood Abyss breaches their formation, well be able to dominate Skyway Quadstar."
"Admiral, youve rendered a great service! We’ll also benefit from being in the limelight with you!"
The three remaining quadruplets and the rest were overjoyed. With the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb taken out, there would be nobody else that could resist the Eye of the Blood Abyss. Victory was already at hand.
"Let’s put Li Tianming aside and focus on planting the voidheart worms for now," the Blood Abyss Wargod said.
"What about you, Admiral?"
"Ill check the lake to see what secrets it holds."
"Understood!"
The Eye of the Blood Abyss zeroed in on Kunlan Lake, as if it was directly staring at it with a boundlessly cold gaze. The storms near the lake filled the skies. There were so many cyclic bugs within that they looked like a tornado rampaging in the city. In the middle of that city was a shining figure that was struggling against the storm of bugs.
"The battle shown by the projection is rather overwhelming. I wonder what those insects are...." While the Blood Abyss Wargod was curious, he didn’t forget to have his ship charge up. He had a feeling that whatever was inside the lake wouldn’t be beneficial to the mysterians at all. "Struggling to survive, eh? Looks touching, to say the least. I guess we have a love story on the line."
The eye on the chest of the Blood Abyss Wargod looked rather playful. "The stronger the love, the more fun it is to destroy, isn’t that right?" No matter how moving the sights from the lake seemed, his cold demeanor wouldnt be shaken in the slightest. As the leader of the Voidsky Organization, he had destroyed all too many beautiful things already.
A bloody glow enveloped the Eye of the Blood Abyss once more. However, the Blood Abyss Wargod was completely ignorant of the fact that Tianming was looking at Kunlan Lake from the other side of the ship. He was surrounded by many baleful souls and his eyes were filled with rage.
"Grand-Orient Sword, Fiendsky Arm, I’m counting on you two!" Tianming was waiting for this chance. He gave Kunlan Lake one last look. The figure within was still being endlessly swarmed by insects. There were so many that the projection had turned into a mess of gray, but there were still some bits of color leaking through, a sign that she was still alive. She was Tianming’s everything!
He gripped his sword tight and allowed the Flint Infernal Impulse to rage like a storm. The power from his Omnisentient Threads gathered in his body, raising his might to the peak. His body was on the brink of collapsing from holding too much power.
"Break!" He executed the Imperialdragon Flameyellow Immemorial. If the Flameyellow Coffin could breach divine astralships, and the Grand-Orient Sword could break through the coffin, it went without saying that the sword was tougher than divine astralships! The reason the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb’s heads were unable to bite into the Eye of the Blood Abyss was that its spherical surface had nowhere to latch on to. However, there was no way such a huge ship could possibly be built entirely out of material that was harder than the Grand-Orient Sword!
While the sword strike seemed small in comparison to the sheer size of the ship, it was a few times more powerful than the time Tianming had used it to pierce the Flameyellow Coffin. Not to mention, the Eye of the Blood Abyss had only recently unleashed a blast against the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb and was in a cooldown state. Normally, the nova source around it would greatly mitigate any damage Tianming could deal.
Tianming unleashed a full-force strike, turning into a needle that pierced straight into the bloody eye. Any spot the sword went through was immediately torn away. The resulting hole stretched more than a thousand meters, and that was after the divine astralship formation impeded the initial wave of the strike. The hole was already being filled up by divine celestial patterns, a result of the divine astralship formation’s self-healing function. A large amount of nova source came flooding Tianming’s way.
"My freaking ancestors were master thieves, plunderers of the heavens! Who can stop me?!" The Grand-Orient Sword had made an opening. Then the black dots in the Plundering Eye blended into the inner taiji diagram, awakening the arm. The arm was a universal aberration, having a natural ability to curb divine celestial formations. Anywhere it went, divine celestial formations must retreat!
"With this arm, there’s no way formations can stop me." Divine astralship formations were similar to the Sky Palace Formation. They were both defensive barriers, which Tianming’s arm was all too well equipped to handle.
