Divine Emperor of Death Chapter 3128 To Find A Way Out

Chapter 3128 To Find A Way Out

Sophie and Bylai were stuck on a tiny island floating on top of a sea of magma. They were slightly protected by crimson stalactites, allowing them to conserve a bit of their energy that was constantly depleting as they were using it to protect themselves from the searing heat.

For a few minutes, they looked around, trying to find a way out.

Yet, they couldn’t find anything, only creasing their brows as the distorted air made it difficult for them to see. They couldn’t even extend their senses out as they became extinguished from the heat in a few seconds. In fact, they couldn’t even maintain their soul sense for a second as the scorching air scrambled the view.

With no favorable outcome, tension rose in the atmosphere.

Nonetheless, they continued to search with all they had.

Staying in the same spot for twenty more minutes, they began to perspire, sweet droplets of their flesh running down their forehead and cheeks, all the way down to their waist, as their robes became drenched. Their robes clung to their bodies, erotically outlining their wonderful curves.

Sophie rubbed her forehead with the back of her hand.

The heat was unbearable, but she kept looking in a direction. In fact, she was looking at the same space for a while now, trying to see through what was going on. However, the more she kept her eyes open, unblinking, the more it hurt her eyes, but despite that, she continued to focus on the object of interest.

The distant mirage seemed to dance, creating illusions of objects or pathways she liked to see present.

But soon enough, she garnered that it was nothing but a Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Ore that had melted beyond compare.

"Ah..."

Sophie fell back as she closed her eyes, causing Bylai to take notice as she supported her from behind.

"You strained your eyes too much..."

"Let me stay like this..."

Bylai criticized with worry, causing Sophie to rest on her as she asked for some reprieve.

The former pouted, letting her rest on her arms, but their body warmth only added to the discomfort.

If Davis was here, his mind might’ve fallen from the spicy content, but the two ladies were too solemn at the moment to be making any jokes about their situation.

Bylai extended her soul sense out. It was like an echo wave, spreading once. However, she sent this soul sense down the tiny island’s cliff, and it almost instantly met with the sea of magma.

’This is bad... the magma’s level has risen...’

Bylai frowned.

As time passed, the situation didn’t get any better for them, and there was no sign of Davis either. They believed that he would come to save them after they couldn’t connect with each other through messaging talisman, but the fact that he hadn’t appeared yet could only mean that he himself was lost or stuck in a precarious situation.

After a minute, Sophie stood on her feet and thanked Bylai for letting her rest.

She pointed towards the distance, opening her mouth, "See that tiny island about fourteen kilometers away? We’ll go there..."

"But," Bylai’s lips twitched in response, "That direction is where the apocalyptic flames are growing stronger and spreading faster... Are you sure we should go in that direction?"

"Look behind you. The place we dropped from is now a giant lavafall. Do you have the confidence to shoot past it?"

Sophie asked, causing Bylai to be stumped as she turned to look at the lavafall that filled the sea below. It was one of the factors that was causing the magma below to rise faster. Regardless, she wryly smiled, knowing that she would be melted into a human metal within seconds if she were to dash into the lavafall, so that left Sophie and her only one choice.

They might find something at the center that would let them fly above, or they would remain trapped, maintaining the status quo. Even if they could stay afloat, they might die from loss of energy since they were constantly defending themselves from the searing heat.

"Alright, let’s go, elder sister."

Bylai spoke with determination once she realized that waiting was not an option anymore.

Sophie nodded as she wrapped her fingers around Bylai’s hand. Together, azure fire and golden metal energy shifted around them, bringing in more heat, but their undulations pushed everything outwards, allowing them to float and fly above the sea of magma despite the overwhelming heat.

*Drump~*

Magma boiled and sent out a few waves of molten spheres above randomly.

Bylai took the lead, dodging and weaving through these molten spheres. Their energy was rapidly draining due to the burning atmosphere that tried to roast them alive, and the more they neared the apocalyptic flames that sought to devour everything in flames, the more scalding it got.

They had no chill, appearing as though they were moths on their way to the giant flames.

*Drom!~*

"What!?"

But suddenly, a huge molten sphere was thrown at them from the boiling magma, causing Bylai to freeze.

Sophie, who was ready, suddenly took action as she brought out the forging table and slammed it into the huge molten sphere. It enlarged, appearing to cover more than fifty meters as it easily shrouded the huge molten sphere.

*Poofff~*

The forging table smashed into the molten sphere, but instead of a resounding explosion, it simply sank into the magma. However, it managed to sever the momentum of the giant ball of magma, causing it to shudder lightly before it sank into the sea of flames again.

There was a giant ripple in the sea of magma, which suddenly caused a blistering bubble of air to soar above, swirling before it exploded with a huge force.

*Puuut!~*

"Ahhh!~

Sophie screamed out as a heatwave approached them with unnatural speed, threatening to burn everything in its path. The air bubble had burst with a muffled explosion, releasing its pent-up energy in a violent burst of heat and force.

She stumbled backward, her vision momentarily blurred by the intensity of the force, but simultaneously, she burst forth her energy as she sacrificed her blood essence, azure flames forming a barrier before her.

However, the blistering heatwave sent her azure flames dispersing, completely wrapping her in its searing heat.

*Bzzzz!~*

But suddenly, Bylai appeared before her, shielding her with her own body as she appeared like a golden deity.

Her body was suddenly encased in golden metal, allowing her to endure more heat than ever before, but her energy was also depleting. Despite that, they were sent flying into the distance, crashing into a rock pillar. However, the walls didn’t budge, causing them to plunge.

The sea of magma was just a few meters away from them when Sophie yelled out.

"Starcy!"

An azure-golden female spirit with a flaming body appeared beside them. Her azure flames instantly wrapped Bylai and Sophie, but she didn’t harm them. Instead, these flames gently held them and carried them across the tiny island that seemed to be fortunately nearby.

However, Bylai and Sophie were shocked that they were carried away so far.

They couldn’t fathom the many dangers of this region.

"Master, I... it’s too hot..."

Starcy complained aggrievedly, causing Sophie to wryly shake her head.

Even a fire spirit at the peak of Immortal King Stage wasn’t able to endure this heat.

"Endure for me, Starcy. You’re a good girl, aren’t you?"

"Yes~"

Starcy answered to Sophie’s cajoling, causing the former to be more determined. However, it wasn’t even two seconds before Starcy actually started melting.

"Master, I’m out of energy..."

Sophie pulled Starcy back into her soul sea, grabbed Bylai by her waist, and shot towards the island. With a burst of azure flames from her legs, she traversed with an incredible speed.

*Bang!~*

They crashed into the island, but again, Bylai shifted positions and bore the brunt with her golden body.

Sophie gasped on top of Bylai, who held her. However, their expressions turned awkward once they realized something.

"My back is completely bare, isn’t it...?"

Bylai asked as she sat up, causing Sophie’s brows to twitch as she looked behind.

However, she shivered as she saw the reddened skin on Bylai’s back, some small patches of skin even appearing to have melted.

Indeed, Bylai felt the searing heat sting her back. It was like a lingering ache that made her experience pain in waves, causing her to push her bottom lip out as she looked as though she was going to cry.

Sophie also saw that her front was scorched, leaving behind some burned, reddened skin.

They were both a mess, but she could see that Bylai was badly injured from the breeze that carried a scorching heat enough to melt average Peak-Level Immortal Kings.

They popped some pills into their mouth, allowing themselves to heal before they changed to a new set of clothes under each other’s protection.

Soon enough, they once again began to search for an exit.

However-

"This is..."

Bylai turned, appearing stunned because she spotted a few wisps of apocalyptic flames burning on another island that was extremely close.

It seemed that these apocalyptic flames were small, probably having been strung into the distance by the explosions occurring at the center. However, the ridiculous thing was that there were ashes gathered all around them, causing Bylai to gawk.

"Particles refined from the purest essence of Molten Goldcrust Core. These ashes are most likely heavy and expensive, considering that they’re no different from stardust refined from the death of stars..."

Bylai’s heart shook.

The treasure before her might’ve very well reached the peak of Immortal Emperor Grade depending upon the quality of the Molten Goldcrust Core, which she couldn’t tell. If she could gather them, it was unknown how powerful she could become as even a single pinch of this dust could temper her body, allowing her to surpass the level of a Golden Dragon’s body, perhaps even nearing Davis’s current chaotic-tempered body in strength.
