Chapter 3747 Regrouping And Surveying Danger
"Just where is this...?"
Davis had his hands folded, standing atop a barren hill, his eyes closed. His purple robe was swaying in the hot winds of the barren land. It was quite warm here, making him perspire, or perhaps it was the tension that swirled in his mind.
Either way, he kept a lookout with his soul sense.
Behind him, he set up the newly enhanced Nine Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace, reconstructed with Bylai and Sophie’s expertise, although they only added an external layer of protection with Immortal Emperor Grade materials.
The setup was not permanent as the palace was something he could absorb into his life ring anytime in case of any danger.
Many people from his city who were thrown out into this unknown land were making their way back to him as he unleashed his undulations, its terrifying nature practically working as a beacon.
It sent the ants scared shitless as they fled from him.
He was thankful to know that death energy still worked like a charm on any savage beasts. Even magical beasts would rarely be able to withstand something that deeply induces the fear of death.
Nonetheless, with his eyes closed, Davis continued to be vigilant as he focused on the vast expanse of this desolate landscape before him. His soul sense spread out like a looming cage, allowing him to sense the world around him with uncanny precision.
He could feel the subtlest vibrations in the earth that those ants were making, the faintest whispers of the wind, and the gentle tremors in the skies from avian savage beasts.
The ton of information about the landscape flooded his consciousness like a tidal wave, transforming into a torrent of sensory data that he was able to understand.
At a thousand-kilometer radius, he sensed the outline of multiple ant caves under the barren land. Each cave had at least a hundred silver ants. They were not magical beasts but savage beasts, lacking sentience.
At this point, the people were quite safe as not one savage beast dared to come out when his undulations were raging on the surface.
At a ten thousand kilometer radius, Davis detected more ant caves and deep lairs that had more silver ants. At this point, he was wondering if he had fallen into some kind of ant world. If it were not for other beasts like sandworms and some strange avian beasts, he would really be thinking otherwise.
The further his senses spread out, the further he could sense powerful ants. Their armor even turned golden.
His senses elongated like a sphere, his awareness piercing past the mountains, their rugged peak, and the valleys in between before finally chancing upon a river, but it turned out to be lava.
At one million kilometers, Davis shuddered.
His perception had long pierced through the clouds and reached space itself. The heaven and earth energy in space was quite less but still present. He came in contact with asteroids and could even feel the gentle whisper of the distant unknown celestial bodies, making him honestly feel excited yet also nervous as attacks from space were now possible.
It was the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm that was sealed. Otherwise, many cultivators could’ve entered from space.
Nonetheless, Davis clenched his fists and shuddered heavily.
His senses expanded to an astonishing eighty million kilometers, something that only a Level Eight Immortal Emperor Soul cultivator could barely maintain for a few seconds, as even maintaining that kind of range would mean using up one percent of their soul force, not to mention the wild exhaustion that would accompany from the tsunami of information that hits his mind.
He soul sense extended to such a ridiculous level, making contact with numerous entities, but none of them human.
Once Davis reached his maximum output in soul sense, he felt like he could squeeze more out but decided not to as he cut back ninety-nine percent and kept a vigilant watch of the surrounding eight hundred thousand kilometers.
This way, he was also able to maintain his soul sense for an extended period of time and digest the information better instead of being overloaded with information, making his reaction time far more delayed.
"Take care~"
His mother, Claire, patted his shoulder with numerous emotions as she had many things to say but could see that her son was already one, so she said a few words and made it into the palace with Logan.
The others also kept coming one by one.
Ancestor Cornelia and her family... Ancestor Dian Alstreim and his family and the others he allowed to stay in his city... Even the refugees who had entered his city were now coming to him.
He opened one of his eyes and looked at them, wondering if he should take them in.
The units inside the Nine Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace were limited, but the spatial training ground had plenty of space to accommodate millions of people. Furthermore, the entire surroundings appeared to be a dangerous zone. It was obvious these people wouldn’t be able to survive here, and he didn’t want to throw them out halfway as he once decided to take them in, so he chose to take them in, but not until every one of his people was safe.
He gave Threelotus, who stood by his side, an order.
She nodded and began lining up the refugees and began a speech that if they wanted to stay, then they accepted the consequences of sharing the same bed with an Anarchic Divergent, which meant being publicly branded an evil person.
Many expressions churned at that statement, but as refugees who already sought protection from the devil because no one would take them in, they eventually acquiesced.
’Even at a distance of eighty million kilometers... there’s no sign of Evelynn, Isabella and Shirley...’
Davis’s heart was heavy.
He couldn’t tell where they were.
Could it be that he has to search for them in this incredibly vast universe that is spread across light-years of distance?
He heard even a Minor Realm was as big as the First Haven World, so what if they teleported to a Lower Realm that was ten times bigger or even the vast unknown stretches of the space, teleported to a random celestial body that couldn’t be reached?
"..."
Just thinking about it gave him the shivers.
At this moment, someone caught his hand.
He knew who it was and opened his eyes.
"Glad you are safe, Aila. Now go inside and stay safe until everything around us doesn’t scream danger..."
He grabbed both her hands and gestured at the Nine Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace with his head, causing Aila Cherryweave to purse her lips.
Her pink hair swayed in the wind along with her heart, which saw his determination to put their safety above all.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" She asked softly.
"There is. Will you protect your sisters’ children if I am not here for some time?"
"Of course!" Aila tiptoed, looking determined, "They’re also my children. Are they not?"
"They are..."
Davis smiled at this pipsqueak, which was good with words. If she wasn’t outgoing, then he doubted she would’ve been able to take a part of his heart when he had decided not to entertain any more beauties other than the one he already decided on.
"Now go..."
Davis placed a hand on her back and pushed her to the palace, taking her inside it. He shook his head, feeling that she had grown stronger a bit after the time she had secluded herself in his home.
Talking with her put a bit of a smile on his face and made his overthinking mind a bit optimistic.
At this moment, Stella descended beside him.
"Big brother... I’m sorry... I couldn’t find big sisters in the surrounding hundred and fifty million kilometers... I searched... everywhere... even until the layers of the earth where soul sense could no longer penetrate..."
"It’s fine..."
Davis raised his hand and patted Stella’s head, "You did well. Continue to keep the perimeter secure and smash any ant head that peeks out."
He smiled at her softly and looked into the distance while Stella still appeared down, perhaps a bit guilty for being unable to find them. She knew how worried he was for them, so she couldn’t even react happily to that praise that would make her jump or act haughty each time.
However, he suddenly looked at her, making her blink.
"Stella... we were teleported to this unknown land, but what about your mini realm? Are you still able to sense it?"
He asked with some curiosity, not having much hope.
After all, Stella had begun creating a mini realm in one of his rooms in his huge master chamber. From what he knew, it should’ve been complete, and all that is left is for the realm to grow by itself or accelerated by Stella, but the foundation should have been done already, making him wonder if Stella could cross through space to return to her mini realm.
"It’s no use..."
However, Stella shook her head sadly, "I can’t sense my mini realm at all. I had just made it, but I wasn’t even able to invite you inside."
"Don’t worry. We can create one later." Davis offered some words of consolation.
Stella pursed her lips and looked down in sadness but raised her head quickly, "But I think that mini realm is still there! After all, I’m in the Third Cycle, so I should be able to create three mini-realms, but I can instinctively sense that I can only create two realms. So, in theory, as long as I can sense the mini realm in the First Haven World, I should be able to transport us all through space to return there!~"
By the time she finished talking, she raised her hands and giddily hopped, her face full of excitement.
"Very good!"
Davis also raised his hand and praised her. However, his smile was forced because he knew the World Master’s universe wasn’t going to show up anytime soon as he remembered her words.
