On the second day, Li Qiye walked out and saw Li Xian cultivating.
"Did you sleep well last night, Young n.o.ble?" The latter stopped and came over.
"Not bad, just strong winds." Li Qiye smiled.
"Don’t worry, that’s the limit of it. We are used to it now since it won’t harm us, we just need to stay inside." Li Xian heaved a sigh of relief.
"How easy-going." Li Qiye smiled.
Li Xian shrugged in response: "What else can I do with my meager strength? Plus, it’s not malicious, maybe it’s really my ancestors visiting for a bit."
"Missing home, right?" Li Qiye said.
"Doesn’t seem too outrageous, maybe I’ll come back after I die too." Li Xian scratched the back of his neck.
"When you die, you turn into nothingness. Becoming a ghost is harder than becoming an emperor." Li Qiye said.
"... There are qualifications required for becoming a ghost?" Li Xian smiled wryly.
"Yes, do you ever see regular people’s spirits returning? No, always powerful cultivators. So if ghosts are real, only the best among them can return." Li Qiye said.
"Like emperors and desolate G.o.ds." Li Xian agreed with this logic.
Only legends of powerful cultivators showing themselves after death were around, not regular mortals.
"That’s why just focus on you now and your spirit might be able to return somehow, don’t worry about being a ghost." Li Qiye smiled.
"I don’t think I will ever reach that stage." Li Xian understood his potential.
"But if you do one day, what would your goal be?" Li Qiye asked.
"Please don’t laugh, but I don’t stand a chance of becoming an emperor, Young n.o.ble." Li Xian said without confidence.
"If." Li Qiye said.
"Hmm..." Li Xian thought carefully before responding: "If I become an emperor, I wish to be an idle one."
"An idle emperor?" Li Qiye chuckled.
"Yes, just stay in one place without worrying about anything, that’s enough." Li Xian nodded.
"Emperors are always ambitious on top of having a decorated battle record. Only through battle would they grow stronger and walk farther." Li Qiye said.
"Young n.o.ble, I’ve never thought about growing stronger or walking farther." Li Xian shook his head: "The present is good to me, an emperor can also appreciate the same thing."
Li Qiye stared at him and smiled, slightly creeping him out.
"You did a terrible job with Radiance Mantra." Li Qiye said.
The s.h.i.+ft in conversation surprised Li Xian momentarily. He eventually responded: "It’s a shame that after my seniors pa.s.sed, this is all that is left to our clan. I tried to fix it and amend the missing parts, just making it up as I go."
"Yes, so many patches and openings." Li Qiye said before slowly raising his hand.
As he spread his fingers, he easily immobilized Li Xian.
"Buzz." He waved and forced Li Xian’s mantra to appear. Sure enough, there were plenty of mistakes.
His dao foundation was below average resembling a shoddily-built brick wall with missing sections.
As Li Qiye moved his fingers like threading a needle, he wore intricate patterns on the youth’s dao foundation.
This mantra was just a foundational outline of the dao. Only through cultivation and training would it turn into an actual grand dao. However, it took shape with Li Qiye’s help, turning into dao laws.
"Buzz." He then sealed the improved foundation back into Li Xian.
Li Xian s.h.i.+vered and felt a radiant light flowing unceasingly through his entire being. Previously, he only sensed a faint glimmer within. Now, he didn’t even need to channel his mantra for the light to be present.
"Young n.o.ble..." This stage would have been unreachable for him otherwise.
"Remember to not forget yourself, that’s the most important thing. If you waver and change your path, your future actions will be ant.i.thetical to your initial aspiration." Li Qiye said.
"Thank you for your help, Young n.o.ble, I will remember." Li Xian understood what Li Qiye had done so he bowed.
Li Qiye smiled and accepted the gesture.
At this point, someone knocked on the door, surprising Li Xian.
"A guest?" He wondered.
Old Ruins were abandoned with few visitors. More powerful cultivators would only fly through instead of visiting a fallen clan.
He opened it and saw four people. All had an impressive presence.
Although Li Xian rarely interacted with outsiders and had weak cultivation, he could still spot their extraordinary nature.
Among them were three youths and one middle-aged man, three males and one female.
The one in front was the most exceptional, wearing an expensive robe exuding rays. He had an innate n.o.bility on top of being handsome. Although his aura was imposing, he displayed humility instead of arrogance.
The girl attracted just as much attention. Although her blue dress wasn’t as extravagant and didn’t s.h.i.+mmer like the youth’s, the fabrics were still spectacular.
She had bright eyes and pearly teeth. Her demeanor exuded an undeniable elegance that indicated her n.o.ble upbringing. Her figure was graceful with subtle curves.
Her eyes were particularly stunning - round, wide, and filled with curiosity. She seemed to find everything fascinating while looking around.
Besides her was a novice monk exuding a certain spiritual quality.
