Hurdle
Guess the hidden 6-letter word in 8 tries. You are told only how many letters you got right — never which ones.
Right consonant, right place
Right vowel, right place
Consonant in the word, wrong place
Vowel in the word, wrong place
How to play
Each turn you type a 6-letter word. Hurdle follows the usual Wordle idea — letters can be in the right place, in the wrong place, or not in the word at all — but with two big differences:
- The colored boxes are random. They tell you only how many letters you got, never which ones.
- Only real English words are accepted. Hurdle checks every guess against a large word list (downloaded once, then remembered by your browser).
- Consonants and vowels are shown separately: dark colors are consonants, light colors are vowels. (A, E, I, O, U are vowels; Y counts as a consonant.)
So if a guess shows two dark-green boxes, exactly two consonants are correct and in the right position — but they could be any two of the letters you typed. Use the counts to narrow the word down, one six-letter hurdle at a time.
