A huge commotion stirred up outside the Fiendish Devil Cave to welcome the Green Nether Banner when they returned from layer forty. The members of the other three banners were surprised to hear that they had successfully overcome this hurdle.
Without a doubt, this was exceptionally fast progress. After all, even the Gold Light Banner was stuck for some time when they first reached layer forty.
In fact, the most shocking thing of all was that the Green Nether Banner had risen from layer twenty-seven straight to layer forty in the short span of three months. Their pace far exceeded that of the other three banners.
All of this had started from the moment Li Luo joined the Green Nether Banner.
As such, they all came to an understanding in their hearts. The rapid transformation taking place in Green Nether Banner was likely all due to Li Luo.
"Little Brother, well done! The Green Nether Banner's progress surpa.s.ses even the Violet Spirit Banner," Li Fengyi congratulated Li Luo as she patted his back with a face filled with pleasant surprise.
As of yesterday, the Violet Spirit Banner led by Li Jingtao had reached layer forty as well. However, they had yet to clear it today. They were slowly depleting the energy of the six Fiendish Devil Leaders, so it was only a matter of time before they would clear it. Nonetheless, this meant that they would need to spend more time at this checkpoint.
"Li Jingtao, can you buck up and be more motivated? The Violet Spirit Banner is now at the bottom amongst the four Banners of Dragon's Fang Lineage," Li Fengyi said to Li Jingtao as she watched him rush over.
"We have already defeated one of the Fiendish Devil Leaders. Clearing layer forty is just a matter of time..." Li Jingtao muttered with a little embarra.s.sment.
"Second Sister, Eldest Brother is just taking it slow and steady. He has no desire to compete. If he decides to try his best one day, I am sure he will surprise all of us," Li Luo added on with a smile to smooth things over. He did not want Li Jingtao to feel uneasy over her sharp remarks. Moreover, he could sense that his nonchalant and friendly cousin had an indescribable composure and calmness in him. Li Fengyi gave a light cough in response. Without lecturing Li Jingtao any further, she turned around and suggested that they do something to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Naturally, Li Luo accepted her invitation, and the three of them left the bustling Fiendish Devil Peak.
A short distance away, the members of the Gold Light Banner watched them with slightly confused looks.

"Banner Leader Li Luo is pretty capable. He cleared layer forty even faster than the Gold Light Banner did," Deng Fengxian commented with a laugh.
On the other hand, Zhong Ling watched on with an uncertain look. The Green Nether Banner was the worst banner back when he was still the leader. As such, the better Green Nether Banner performed under Li Luo’s leaders.h.i.+p, the more incompetent he would appear to be in comparison.
"Brother Deng, Li Luo is getting more and more popular in the Dragon's Fang Lineage. Now that he is starting to show his true strength, I feel that the Green Nether Banner may pose a threat to the Gold Light Banner in the future," Zhong Ling said in a deep voice.
Hearing this, Deng Fengxian looked over at him and replied with a smile, "In that case, there will surely be a grand fight amongst our two banners. If they win against us, then Li Luo will be the leader of the younger generation of the Dragon's Fang Lineage from then on."
"Aren't you worried, Brother Deng?" Zhong Ling asked with a frown.
"If I can't even hold down a guy like him, who has wasted all his youth in an outer divine continent, what can I say?" Deng Fengxian simply replied.
"Well, if he turns out to be incompetent, that's just fine as it won't affect us. However, if he's as capable as his father, I don't think that even the Banner Leaders of the Dragon's Blood Lineage will be able to hold him down, let alone the Dragon's Fang Lineage. If he really is that gifted, why wouldn't I, Deng Fengxian, accept him as my leader?" he further elaborated.
"Zhong Ling, you are too stubborn. Do you see your loss to Li Luo as a disgrace? Who knows, this might become a proud moment for you in the future." He ended his words with a slight smile. Hearing this, Zhong Ling was inevitably filled with resentment.
“What a joke. Why would I ever be proud about being beaten by that brat?”
……
On the second day, Li Luo couldn’t contain himself any longer and headed straight for Dragon's Fang Cave.
Dragon's Fang Cave was the special place where the Dragon's Fang Lineage kept all their Duke Arts.
When Li Luo arrived, he saw a huge entrance on top of an enormous mountain. The cave was shaped like the head of a giant dragon, baring its fangs with its mouth opened wide. It was a majestic sight to behold.
As Li Luo gazed upon the entrance to the cave, he could sense terrifying pulses of energy coming from it as the worldly natural energy was continually swallowed into the dragon's mouth.
Evidently, there was a fearsome ward in place here.
This was to be expected. After all, Duke Arts were precious treasures that were fought over by many Dukes in both the outer divine continents and inner divine continents. Surely, the Dragon's Fang Lineage would protect them well.
Following the Stairway to Heaven, Li Luo slowly walked up the steps and arrived in front of Dragon's Fang Cave.
There was a sleepy old man wearing gray robes beside the entrance. Naturally, Li Luo recognized that this was one of the respected elders of the Dragon's Fang Lineage. He greeted the elder politely and then took out his Banner Leader's gold seal and explained the purpose of his visit.
The Elder looked up and checked him out for a moment before he slowly replied, "The son of Li Taixuan... Alright, you may enter. There are sixty-eight Duke Arts Dragon's in Fang Cave. Forty-seven of them are Communion-grade, nineteen are Soul Ascension-grade, and two of them are Destiny-grade. With your background and achievements, you may choose one that is Soul Ascension-grade or below."
Li Luo was excited to hear this. Sixty-eight Duke Arts... This was the foundation of the Dragon's Fang Lineage. The grade limitation on the Duke Art did not pose any problem for Li Luo. After all, his biggest goal was to try and obtain a Duke Art suitable for himself. Whether it was Communion-grade or Soul Ascension-grade, he would be satisfied with it. As for Destiny-grade Duke Arts, he dared not even think about them. It was too unrealistic for him to get his hands on one with his current foundation, and he would not be able to learn it even if he could obtain it.
In the end, he still had to take things one step at a time.
"Are there any Transcendent Duke Arts?" Li Luo asked curiously as he thought about it.
Hearing this, the gray-robed elder simply laughed out. "Your father asked the same question a long time ago," he said.
Li Luo was dumbfounded. His father had actually asked such a question as well? What a coincidence.
"Little boy, Transcendent-grade Duke Arts are not as simple as you imagine. We do have one in the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li, but it's with the Dragon's Blood Lineage. Only the five Lineage Chiefs have the authority to view it," the elder explained patiently.
"Master the Transcendent Duke Art, Transcend the Duke," he continued.
"Transcendent Duke? What is that?" Li Luo asked in doubt.
At this moment, a smile surfaced on the wrinkled, aged face of the elder. He slowly elaborated, "There is another name for people known as Transcendent Dukes. They are known as Heavenly Seedlings, the people with the potential to become Heavenly Emperors."
Li Luo took a deep breath as he listened to the explanation. Although he did not know what a Transcendent Duke was, he was shocked to hear about their potential to become Heavenly Emperors.
The Heavenly Emperor Stage... that was the epitome of power in this world. Their presence elevated the powers they controlled, and it could be clearly seen from the prosperity enjoyed by the Heavenly Dragon's Five Lineages. This was all thanks to their great ancestor, Heavenly Emperor Li.
"Go on," the elder said as he directed Li Luo inside with a wave of his hand. He did not say anything else.
Li Luo nodded with grat.i.tude. After bidding goodbye to the elder respectfully, he turned around and stared into the deep Dragon's Fang Cave. Without any more hesitation, he walked straight into it, and his shadow disappeared into the darkness.
