Chapter 2279 - Three Fingers of Burning Incense
The hexagonal holes were all empty, making the tomb look even colder and foreign. It looked like the gaping mouth of an abyss, waiting to swallow everything as it continued spinning without any end in sight.
"Many people... are coming! Little Li... it’s tragic!" Yin Chen was still messing around even at a time like this. Tianming felt that some punishment was due.
His heartbeat continued speeding up. "No matter what happens, I will fight for the opportunity!"
He approached the spinning tomb despite how hard it still shook. "At the very least, I’m better than Lin Hongchen. He tried for three months but was unable to make it budge in the slightest. I bet he must be freaking out after all this!" He felt much better about it. He looked down at his right pinky and ring fingers, which were still shaking beyond his control. Then he heard something else.
"Huh?" He looked up and saw three black pillars descend from three different locations. They seemed to have been sealed for a long time! Each of them was around a hundred meters tall, and they all pierced into the tomb, making it look like an incense jar. The pillars themselves looked like incense sticks, but slightly shorter.
"Huh? These stone pillars... they’re fingers!" Tianming was overjoyed. The thickest one, on the left, was a thumb; the perfectly shaped one in the middle was an index finger; and the longest one, on the right, was a middle finger. Finally, the other fingers had appeared to make a matching set with the pinky and ring fingers! This time around, Tianming wouldnt have to track them down; they had been attracted to the bees’ nest tomb straight away. They looked like lit incense sticks that were still smoking.
"Let’s go!" He knew this was a perfect chance for him to get those fingers, as the others still hadn’t arrived yet. What would happen once he collected all five fingers? He couldn’t wait to find out! He immediately spilled a lot of his blood before charging toward the finger, attempting to fling his blood toward them.
"These things acknowledge their owner using blood! I’ll go straight for them!" His blood reached the fingers before he did. The first drop landed on the largest one, the thumb. Tianming watched as his blood seeped inside it.
"What’s next? Break the pillars?" Right as he thought that, he looked at the other two pillars, which seemed to evaporate his blood rather than absorb it.
"How could this be?" He didn’t understand what was happening, though he didn’t let that stop him. He charged toward the thumb and used all the power he could muster in the Fiendsky Arm to punch the stone pillar. Like the previous pillars, it crumbled with a single strike, causing a wave of green to flow toward him.
"Now that’s the thumb taken care of." He soon saw the albi of his thumb marked with a green symbol. The symbols linked up together to form a formation that his caelum could enter, though he didn’t have time to explore it just yet. He still had to deal with the other two pillars that seemed to reject his blood.
"This can’t be. Must these things be resolved one at a time, then? Wouldnt that mean I can’t collect them all at once? Do I have to take it slow?" He charged toward the index finger and flung two drops of blood away, one toward the index finger and the other toward the distant middle finger. Before his blood reached the middle finger, it reached the index finger, which was closer. The index finger absorbed his blood, while the middle finger wiped it away.
"Dammit, I really can’t eat them all up at once!" Though he was annoyed, he still felt excitement as he crushed the index finger, sending rocks flying all over the place. Then he charged toward the middle finger pillar while green light gathered near his index finger. That was his fourth! Just obtaining these two fingers alone promised huge changes for him!
"The last finger! Yet another huge boost!" It was far too exhilarating. The benefits he got from the fingers was something out of an unrealistic dream! His eyes were affixed to the middle finger. While it was a pillar, it was clear from its slender look that its owner was someone who exuded elegance while they were still alive.
"I wonder if collecting all five fingers means I’ve gotten everything?" He couldn’t contain his excitement. When the formation around his index finger finished forming, he sent blood flying toward the final pillar and evaded at the same time. Moments before, he had felt a threat to his life! He looked up and saw a figure in a black, rosy dress descend on top of the middle finger. The next instant, killing intent filled the whole world.
The woman in the black dress had long white hair and long refined ears. She was tall and slender, standing about as tall as Tianming and sporting exquisite curves on her body. Even though Tianming was frightened, he could tell that this incredible beauty was an existence that mere mortals couldn’t hope to approach. It was like she was a flower that grew on the peak of the tallest snowy mountain. Her snow-white hair was so pure that it almost resembled Tianming’s white hair. She also had rainbow-colored eyes. Both of those traits marked her as a luxdaemon, the newest Infinitum Regal Clan in the history of the Infinitum Mundus. She was from Yi Daiyan’s clan!
"This can’t be good." Tianming’s expression shifted. The girl shot a beam of frost out of her fingers that subsumed his blood. With the blood gone, she became the most likely person to claim the middle finger. The timing with which she had arrived vexed him oh so much. He caught a glimpse of her disciple card right as she locked onto him. "Rank two on the minor reges mundi ranking...."
She was among the most promising figures in the entire Oldgod Domain, and she wore an Oldgod Ring! People finally saw Tianming again on the feed that her ring was broadcasting. Finally, all the spectators in the mundus were seeing the room with the bees’ nest.
