Chapter 2285 - Raising Bugs
At this point, Tianming no longer cared about gains or treasures. Surviving and returning to those he loved was his highest priority. He had never felt as sentimental as he did now. All he could do was wait for Yin Chen to scatter and scout things out.
"The others shouldve also been brought here alive, right?" As he thought that, the white fog above him formed an image that depicted two bee-headed people fighting.
"Guchi Xiaoyin!" He immediately recognized one of the people. After their heads had been transformed, many people’s disciple cards were no longer legible. He was only able to tell it was Guchi Xiaoyin because of his minute stature and silver soul eyes. He had quite a unique look compared to everyone else.
Guchi Xiaoyin’s opponent was a young girl with a bee head. Tianming saw Guchi Xiaoyin’s mandibles flapping nonstop, no doubt cursing his opponent. He didn’t even summon his warbeasts from his fauna worldstone and directly slashed away at his opponent with a weapon, sending the bee head flying. Guchi Xiaoyin seemed to be in quite a compromised mental state. He even outright killed someone! Everything thatd happened had been far too terrifying, destabilizing all their mental states.
After decapitating his opponent, he ground the bee head to mush, spilling green blood all over his body. Then he panted and began bawling. The images continued to unfold before Tianming. Eventually, he saw Guchi Xiaoyin’s head return to normal at a rate the eye could see after he killed his opponent! He was normal again!
"Did he get released?" Tianming was quite envious. Guchi Xiaoyin also found out about his current state soon enough and felt absolute release. Then the point of view of the scene shifted upward, causing Guchi Xiaoyin to shrink more and more. At the very end, the shape of a foggy white bees’ nest appeared in front of Tianming. It appeared that Guchi Xiaoyin and his opponent had been fighting inside one of the nests rooms. There were people in thousands of other rooms as well.
After that, the images disappeared completely.
"That must be their way of telling us the rules of this place!" Tianming firmly believed that everything had been controlled by someone or something ever since the bees’ nest appeared. "It must be saying that we have to kill our opponents to get our heads back!" Tianming’s guess couldn’t be that far off, or there wouldn’t be a point in showing them all that.
"That’s right!" He felt another wave of shock that caused his mood to plummet. "Guchi Xiaoyin’s opponent was probably taken into the same room as him... Does that mean my opponent is Yi Taoyao?" She was ranked in the top two!
"Does that mean that only one person can get their head back? If Yi Taoyao saw that, she’ll definitely decapitate me!" Even the ugliest of men would want their head back instead of being stuck with a bee’s, let alone a beauty like her. There was no way she would let him off. No doubt, everyone was disgusted by the metamorphosis they had gone through.
The thought of that caused him to despair. There was no way Yi Taoyao would show him mercy. It didn’t take long before his suspicions were proven right! He turned back and saw a piercing green glow from the fog beyond him. His head also glowed bright green. That must mean that only one of the two people inside each room can survive after killing the other!
"Wait, isn’t this like cricket fighting? Lin Xiao, guess your grandson is one of the crickets in the game now." But that wasn’t the most terrifying part. "Who in the world is controlling all this? Are they someone from the present, or the ancient past?"
Everything had started after Tianming opened the tomb, which no normal person could have done. He had finally learned the terror of treading into the forbidden locations of the ancients using his sky plunderer talents. Yet no amount of guessing would do him any good and he preemptively summoned Meow Meow. Yi Taoyao had definitely seen his location, like he saw hers! She was already giving chase.
"I bet she won’t hesitate to kill me since she thinks I was taking advantage of her just now. She doesn’t know me well enough...." Tianming didn’t waste any more time and had Meow Meow run at full speed. Yet where could he hide within such a tiny shared room? Nobody would be allowed to leave the nest before they transformed and escaped their cocoon.
Tianming couldn’t care less. His scattered Yin Chens finally detected Yi Taoyao. She was still in her black dress, sporting slender thighs and a tall stature. Her skin was as enchanting as it was before... but her head was certainly making a statement! Where in this little room would his survival lie? It didn’t take long before Tianming ran into an invisible barrier. He slammed into it and bled from the impact. Even Meow Meow was stunned by the collision. It had been laughing at Tianming’s predicament moments before, but now it truly began feeling death looming over their heads.
"The creator of this tomb captured more than six thousand young people and pitted them against each other.... What’s the point of this? Are they raising bugs? Will only the strong survive?" If that really was the case, it would be even more horrifying. Tianming’s heart skipped at the thought. The minor reges mundi ranking event wasn’t supposed to be this bloody. The seniors’ rules only allowed for victory or defeat, not outright death.
"Meow, come back!" The battlefield was small enough that he wouldn’t be able to escape, so he called Meow Meow back.
"What? Are you going to sacrifice yourself to save us?" the cat said, shocked.
"None of that nonsense!" Tianming leaned against the invisible barrier and used his Sky Plundering Hand! It was his only hope for survival. Soon, a joyful expression appeared on his face. His silver thread was there! The barrier of the room was just like the formation that had originally sealed off the tomb. It was made of layers of formations, one after another. Normal people would have trouble with the locks, but Tianming was a sky plunderer. When he stuck his arm into the barrier, around three hundred green characters appeared, and all of them were around a hundred strokes. The number of strokes didn’t keep rising!
