Chapter 1686 A Feast Before the Festival
"Did you want me to save you sooner? I knew there was someone inside that was capable of saving you, so why would I waste my energy?" The Primal Monarch shrugged with a smile on his face after hearing Yuan’s words.
"What if she didn’t save me?" he asked.
"But that didn’t happen, so why dwell on it?" Yuan sighed and no longer tried to argue with him.
"Ahem." The Dragon God cleared his throat. "As I was saying. If you want to become my descendant, I will make it possible."
"You were serious?" Yuan looked at him with wide eyes.
"Of course. Do you want me to show you how serious I am?"
"Hey, why are you trying to poach him when you didn’t even save him?" Primal Monarch suddenly asked.
"My daughter saved him, which is the same thing." Dragon God shrugged.
"I can’t believe such shameless words are coming out of that mouth. Did you hit your head too hard recently?"
Long Yejun and the others were bewildered by the Dragon God and Primal Monarch’s childish bickering, as they had never seen such behavior from these godlike existences.
’Since when were they on such good terms with each other?’ Long Yejun wondered inwardly.
Once it seemed like their conversation had ended, Yuan spoke, "I don’t know how you’ll make me a descendant, and I appreciate the offer, but I will have to decline. After all, I already have a father here."
Primal Monarch snickered after hearing this. The Dragon God’s expression didn’t change much, and he appeared calm, but he was definitely disappointed inwardly.
"What a pity. With your talents, you definitely qualify to be my descendant. But if you don’t want it, I can’t force you."
"The Dragon God Festival will begin soon, so I will take my leave now. Until then." The Dragon God disappeared into thin air the very next moment.
"I’ll also take my leave for now." The Primal Monarch left before Yuan could say anything to him.
The place remained dead silent even many moments later.
Eventually, Long Yejun broke the silence and spoke in a trembling voice, "I can’t believe you’re the Primal Monarch’s descendant! That’s actually even more impressive than being the Dragon God’s descendant!"
"Well, I am not really his blood-related descendant. I was adopted by him, and he gave his Blood Essence to me." Yuan explained.
"The Primal Monarch’s Blood Essence?! That’s even more impressive!" Long Yejun cried out loud.
He continued, "Anyway, what are you going to do now? Since we still have a little time left before the Dragon God Festival, want to have a feast?"
Yuan nodded and said, "Sure, but I will be away for a little."
"No worries. We need a few days to prepare the feast, anyway." Long Yejun nodded.
Yuan looked at Yingzi and said to her, "I’ll be gone for a bit again."
"Okay."
Yuan logged off at that moment.
"Huh? Where did he go?" The Baneful Dragon muttered in a dazed voice.
"I can’t sense his presence anymore, almost as if he ceased to exist. Was that the power of the void?" Long Meihui inquired out loud, her face filled with wonder.
"The Primal Monarch probably took him somewhere," Eternal Frost Dragon deducted.
Meanwhile, Yuan returned to Earth again.
He looked at the two sleeping beauties beside him and sighed, "I’d just promised them that I’d not lose track of time, but alas, it’s almost been a year since my last return..."
Although he didn’t technically lose track of time but was trapped inside the Infinite Spiraling Abyss, it was basically the same thing.
Yuan waited for either Meixiu or Chu Liuxiang to wake up.
The following day, Meixiu was the first to wake up. She and Chu Liuxiang had been taking turns logging off every other day to see if Yuan had returned.
"Hm? You’re back?" Meixiu looked at him with a pleasantly surprised face.
"Yes..."
Upon seeing his apologetic smile, Meixiu instantly knew he was about to apologize for his absence again, so she swiftly placed a finger on his lips and said, "You don’t need to apologize. We were prepared for it when you left a note this time."
Yuan nodded and said, "Alright, I won’t apologize, but I want to tell you what happened this time."
"Of course."
Yuan proceeded to explain about being trapped inside the Infinite Spiraling Abyss and how time flowed differently inside.
"It felt like I had only been there for several minutes, but by the time I came out, several months had passed," he said.
"Anyway, the Dragon God Festival is right around the corner. Once I finish it and hopefully win it, I’ll immediately return to the Nine Heavens."
"What will happen if you don’t win?" Meixiu entertained this possibility and inquired.
"Then I’ll have to ask the Primal Monarch for help. If he can’t help Feng Feng, I’ll just have to postpone her revival and return to the Nine Heavens. Though, I doubt the Primordial Phoenix will accept that outcome."
"She said that she’d wage war with the Divine Dragon Sanctuary for the treasure if I failed, and I cannot allow that to happen no matter what. I don’t know how serious she was being when she said it, but I have a feeling she was being dead serious," Yuan sighed.
"If I have no other option, I will see if the Dragon God would be willing to lend me the treasure, and in exchange, I will become his descendant."
"His descendant?" Meixiu wore a puzzled look on her face.
"Apparently, the Dragon God wants me to be his descendant. I don’t know what went through his mind that led him to such a decision, though."
After chatting for some time, Yuan and Meixiu spent the rest of the day together. He did the same thing with Chu Liuxiang the following day. Then, he visited Yu Rou and the Eternal Lotuses.
Once he caught up with everyone, Yuan returned to the Primal Expanse for the feast.
