Chapter 2998 Not Grounded?
Davis’s gaze fell on Myria.
1
For a moment, he couldn’t believe what she asked. However, it was Myria he was thinking about, so he knew she was worried for him from her position of mother-in-law.
He smilingly shook his head, "Although it’s embarrassing, it’s not something that would make me go insane."
Myria nodded ever so lightly as she returned her gaze.
"Why are you here? I assume these two new wicked people don’t know about you."
Myria nodded as she arrived at the same conclusion as him.
"I was called for the same reason as you. I thought the Guardians captured one of many Fraser’s seed forms since he’s the kind of idiot that would play with Vacuous Beasts, but after coming here, I learned that it might be a different person. Besides, it’s not like I’m completely innocent as the remnant anarchic aura or anarchic divergence I left upon my breakthrough would’ve been a significant factor in breaking open the space."
"..."
Hearing Myria’s words, Davis couldn’t help but think what kind of changes the divergence stemming from his women also had some part in creating this mess. Perhaps, it was a situation of collective divergence forming into one big calamity because it was gathered by the strange formation disc used by Wicked Tamer Jaxon Harrow, enough to bring a calamitous storm to the First Haven World, doing more damage than they would have success in hunting down those but as the source themselves, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that they felt bad about it.
For the same reason, the Void Dust Empress was strict enough to tell the Guardians not to leave. After all, if they moved, then it was enough to bring a calamitous storm to the First Haven World, doing more damage than they would have success in hunting down those three outsiders.
"Is Ellia doing good?" Davis asked.
"She’s being overzealous about helping you. No matter what, you shouldn’t allow her to exert herself like this..."
Myria glared at him, causing Davis’s expression to turn wry.
"It’s my fault. I can’t promise that this would happen again as Ellia doesn’t tell me either, but if I saw her overexerting herself, I would stop her even without you having to say anything."
Davis spoke wryly but turned solemn at the end.
Indeed, Ellia had helped him too many times for him to keep count.
She went around helping whoever she could in whatever way she could, bringing forth enormous improvement to the cultivation of her sisters and even the defense of the household. Perhaps, she was trying to fit inside in her own way or was collecting the goodwill of everyone, or possessed the same attitude as him as he taught her to treat those who were important to her with a smile during their childhood years. Whatever it may be, he knew he was highly indebted to her.
"Have you released her before coming here?"
He asked, causing Myria to look at him with amusement.
"You speak as though I’m imprisoning her."
"Well, she’s my wife, so yes, you are keeping her restricted."
"She’s my daughter, and you haven’t even married her yet."
"Says who?" Davis smirked, "You two are sisters, and marriage is a mere formality. Even without it, we are eternally bonded."
Myria’s eyes narrowed at him in response, "You... are... shameless."
This man had said to her that he would give her a grandchild, meaning that he admitted that she was Ellia’s mother now he was changing his tone. However, she didn’t really blame him as she also wasn’t aware of her true relation to Ellia, as matters of the soul couldn’t be pinpointed.
For all she knew, Ellia could be considered her twin, but since she was her senior and split from her, she wanted to be her mother, but that seemed a bit too much, so she always called Ellia her little sister before relegating herself to mother role because she was being taken away from her.
She felt responsible for Ellia, but she felt that this man wasn’t paying enough attention to Ellia, not that she didn’t understand, as she was the same as him, an Anarchic Divergent who was bound to be haunted by calamities.
Together, they were bound to make the lives of people around them difficult as well.
"In any case, if you truly care about Ellia, you better check on why she lost a level from her Immortal Vessel."
"What...?" Davis turned confused.
Myria looked at his reaction and blinked ever so lightly.
"Even you don’t know? Seems like Ellia’s stubborn in hiding the reason."
"What do you mean? You didn’t ground her?"
Myria shook her head, "When she returned, I noticed that her cultivation had decreased by a level. She said that she suffered cultivation deviation and that she has recovered from it. While I believe that she has recovered, I think she is lying about the cause. Then she asked me to train her, which I wasn’t aversed to, but I couldn’t take my mind off it. You better provide me an explanation for this matter."
Davis was genuinely confused, but seeing her delegate him a task, he nodded his head. He also wanted to know what happened as his women were acting strange back then, seemingly hiding something from him about Clara.
Nonetheless, seeing the Void Dust Empress walk towards him with graceful steps, he gestured to Myria.
"I have something to talk to you later. Don’t go anywhere."
Myria’s contemplative expression turned into a glare before she looked away.
’Just why wouldn’t he give up...?’
Davis respectfully cupped his hands towards the Void Dust Empress and lowered his head.
"Many thanks for aiding me time and time again. I won’t forget this favor."
Wix Voidfield’s brows narrowed, "It is fine as long as you remember my words."
Davis nodded his head. He was told to take care of Stella, and now that he finally heard from Wix Voidfield’s mouth, he understood that she was looking out for him because of her daughter. There was no ulterior motive behind it.
"But why...?" He asked.
"Who told you to enter the Void Dust Secret Realm and undergo your tribulation right in front of the place she was growing for thousands of years? I have no choice but to believe that my daughter’s fate is intrinsically tied to you."
"I’m just a small divergent..." Davis reeled as he felt bad.
He really didn’t intend to harm Stella, but it was just the way it was.
"I wish you were. Divergents aren’t on the same level as Anarchic Divergents. I- no, even the Guardians here are far inferior to you two, so in another perspective, it would be better for us to end your lives."
"Ah~ Please spare me, Void Dust Empress."
Wix Voidfield couldn’t help but close her eyes as though she smiled.
"Young man, I want you to know that the world may deny us, but even then, you should remain steadfast and be true to yourself, not losing sight of the person you aim to be."
"I understand."
"But don’t expect any more aid from me."
"I’m aware. There’s a limit to how many times you can help me, or else even the great Void Dust Empress would be implicated. Besides, I do not wish to be shameless, so leave Stella to me. I promise I will make her stronger than you."
Davis spoke sincerely, causing Wix Voidfield to blink.
"You, you, you... don’t be so casually talking to my master. First, pay some respects!"
Abruptly, a purple-robed man jumped between them and pointed his finger at him, causing Davis to turn speechless.
