Chapter 2858 Sparks Crackles
With the Aurora Cloud Gate being brought into the topic, the Dragon and Phoenix Clans suddenly felt threatened, if not became incredibly cautious.
It was the only power they couldn’t wrap their heads around, staying mysterious and docile yet proving themselves to be extremely strong enough to collapse a domain power by themselves.
What’s more, only one of their Grand Elders, many Elders, and true disciples at the peak of Immortal King Stage seemed to have made a move to eradicate the Godwin Family. It was unknown what it would be like if their Ancestors, who had not shown up for millenniums, were to move outside.
At that time, some cautious ones had this feeling that even their own Ancestors would fail to properly defend against them. That was how mysterious the Aurora Cloud Gate was in their eyes.
However, they still didn’t seem too scared, some even appearing excited as though welcoming the challenge.
"If that’s the case, then we will not drag the Aurora Cloud Gate into this storm. No matter who gains supremacy in the future, I think we can unanimously agree to stay out of the Aurora Cloud Gate’s domain, not because they’re strong but purely for the reason that it was created by Saintess Lunaria."
Patriarch Klavius Rocksunder spoke up, turning to look at everyone, "We owe that much to the legend who brought peace to the world, don’t you think?"
"Earth Dragon Clan’s Patriarch, that achievement doesn’t only belong to the Aurora Cloud Gate but also the Dragon Alliance because of the Azure Dragon." The Water Dragon Clan’s Patriarch raised his voice, "In that case, shouldn’t we Dragon Alliance get to rule the world as it should be?"
"Absolutely not!"
The Dark Phoenix Clan’s Patriarch flicked his sleeves, appearing annoyed, "If the Dragon Alliance wants to rule, the Phoenix Alliance must be included."
"Ridiculous. If you two alliances want to attain supremacy, then you must step over our dead bodies." Sneered Asta Rubyshroud, appearing like he heard something funny.
"That’s right. It’s high time that the Dragon and Phoenix Alliance come down from their high horses and start to live with other powers equally. Even now, they have occupied resource-rich lands, leaving us forced to war with each other to become strong enough to protect ourselves."
"Well said! Unfettered Skies Alliance Leader. My Rumbling Firmament Alliance also agrees. Although our lands are rich, it naturally cannot compare to what the Dragon and Phoenix Alliances possess."
Two powerful men who sat far away from each other agreed as they nodded to each other.
However, the people were shocked as these two were none other than Emerald Gale Roc Clan’s Patriarch and Devouring Wind Garuda Clan’s Patriarch, who were enemies. They had plenty of enmity stemming from time immemorial, but they couldn’t understand what kind of wind blew over leaving no negotiation over the aspect of supremacy.
With that said, animosity grew in the banquet.
them to finally be able to work with each other.
Not to mention that they were respectively the leaders of the Unfettered Skies Alliance and the Rumbling Firmament Alliance, having many disagreements and problems that wouldn’t let them join hands in this life.
"Hmph! Then we have nothing to say other than meeting on the battlefield."
Nonetheless, the Fire Dragon Clan’s Patriarch appeared incensed as he sneered at them, apparently leaving no negotiation over the aspect of supremacy.
With that said, animosity grew in the banquet.
"Alright, alright, whether it be my Dragon Alliance or other alliances, I ask of you to give face to this host and keep the conversation civil. We are only here to talk, not fight."
However, Earth Dragon Clan’s Patriarch shook his head wryly, trying to mitigate it.
Perhaps, giving him face, the others became silent.
Davis saw the move conversation move back and forth, and like before, no consensus was made. It seemed like there would be war, more or less, as none of the alliances wanted to come under someone else’s rule.
They all had their Ancestors to protect them, so they were all of the idea that they would not fall easily and stuck to their pride, not giving an inch.
He finally saw what it means to be peak powers than the things he saw in the Central Primesky Alliance, which seemed to be kids coming together compared to this incredible lineup.
Without knowing, the day disappeared and night eclipsed the world, causing many to feel mentally drained as the conversation between the powerful alliances didn’t seem to be moving anywhere but only had sparks and hints of enmity brewing as some leaders went too far with their words, arousing past misdeeds to anger them.
Therefore, the hosts announced the people to rest on the upper floors of the palace.
Davis blinked as he saw people move onto the upper floors even though there were still many people remaining to enjoy the banquet and the beauties that came with it. Still, he didn’t expect the banquet to take place for a second day, but it seemed like it was unanimously decided to be the case.
"Wait."
Suddenly, a sharp voice echoed, causing the people on the stage and a few others present in the hall to look toward the source of the voice.
"My sister Isabella and I only came here to sign the Blood Soul Contract. What’s taking so long to present it?"
Shirley’s voice was cold as she glared at Patriarch Killian Zenflame.
"Third inheritor, please don’t be offended. The situation today was beyond our expectations as we never imagined that so many important people would’ve arrived, although the invitations we sent were just to inform them of the decision we will take today, expecting them to only send diplomatic representatives. However, we are not forgetting you but only want you to witness what you will be getting into by becoming one of us. After all, we do not want to trouble you with anything other than your mission itself, which is to win the Candidacy."
Patriarch Killian Zenflame explained with a gentle smile.
But Shirley merely harrumphed in response before leaving the hall together with the other ladies.
"What’s with them?"
Davis asked as though he was ignorant.
"Merchant tactics." Patriarch Fenren Jadelight chuckled, sending a soul transmission, "They’re making them seem not as important as they are to lower their price. It’s the same for you, even though we intentionally tried to make things harder for them to speak with you. After all, if they really wanted, they could’ve overcome our alliance easily but chose not to in order to make you seem less important. Why do you think there is a second day?"
"They are preparing... gifts... to recruit me?" Davis raised his brows.
"Precisely."
Patriarch Fenren Jadelight nodded with a satisfied smile. With how Mo Tian conducted himself, he trusted that they wouldn’t be betrayed. However, his expression turned complicated as he turned to look at their figures, wondering if the Emperor of Death had truly died for them to be here without his presence.
Davis was also about to leave for the quarters allotted to the Central Primesky Alliance on the upper floors as he was being brought away for his safety. However, he momentarily slowed his pace to see a few blocking his women. It was not only him who had almost stopped, but so were the others, so his actions didn’t seem suspicious.
"Since the banquet is over for today, what else is there to communicate?"
Shirley demanded as she looked at the brownish-golden-robed people in front of her. They seemed to be elders from the Earth Dragon Clan. However, they unanimously cupped their hands and went on their knees, lowering their heads.
"Please accept our deepest apologies and condolences for your loss, fourth inheritor Isabella Davis. We welcome you into our clan without requiring a Blood Soul Contract."
