Chapter 3824 Dealing With An Autarch
*Bzzzzz!~*
Evelynn, Isabella, Shirley, Tanya, and Stella looked behind.
The undulations emanating from the brown-robed man were incredibly dense and heavy, creating a palpable sense of dread and immense pressure that blanketed the entire area. It caused numerous beasts in the vicinity to turn tails and run for their lives, even abandoning their own kin.
The aura radiated an overpowering pulsation of energy, a force so intense that it distorted the very space around him, creating visible waves of turbulence as he chased them.
The next moment, he was already above them in the sky, looking at them with a gaze that inferred them as no different than ants yet it was furious over their actions.
Each step he took caused a spatial ripple to spread through the atmosphere, disturbing the very nature of things. The clouds above parted and the wind howled, causing the sky to darken. His white hair billowed wildly, making him appear like he was a looming threat to them.
Davis and the others were caught in the wake of this suppression. They felt an immediate weight of undulations pressing down on them, making it harder to breathe and take in heaven and earth energy.
In fact, the heaven and earth energy was moving away from them.
It wasn’t because they were a Divergent group but it was one of the basic abilities of a being surpassing an Immortal Emperor, the ability to control the heaven and earth energy around them far more higher than an Immortal Emperor that they could basically turn the surroundings into a zone devoid of heaven and earth energy.
This forces their opponents to rely on their own strength or pills.
It wasn’t that important in a battle since the rate of absorption for a human or any kind of being is always small but for a battle formation consisting of Peak Immortal Emperors capable of battling an Empyrean, that was fatal since they would be rapidly drained.
This made it so that the Empyrean Stage or the Autarch Stage was something anyone couldn’t hope to reach and presented an immense, almost insurmountable barrier to anyone, even supreme geniuses.
Even an Empyreal Sovereign could barely fight an extended battle with an Autarch due to this advantage.
This made the people painfully aware of the gulf between the Sovereign Stage and the Autarch Stage. It was so vast that it was often described as the difference between heaven and earth. Cultivators at this stage had transcended their immortal limitations, stepping into a realm where they could control heaven and earth energy to fight for them.
But still, they hadn’t transcended their immortal or transcendent coil.
The Empyrean Stage was still considered a part of the Immortal Step, the same way the Autarch Stage was considered a part of the Transcendent Step.
Therefore, it was still possible to defeat them. Cases of Empyreal Sovereigns killing an Autarch would resound in the Upper Realms very rarely and make their way to the Lower Realms.
Davis knew this and wasn’t surprised. Instead, he couldn’t wait to get his hands on an Autarch kill as an Immortal King and create history. However, he didn’t know if he would be the first to accomplish that or if the World Master or someone else had already done that.
Unfortunately, he was still weaker than an Empyrean and couldn’t possibly kill one without Myria’s help unless he used Fallen Heaven’s energy but this wasn’t the time to bring out his big guns for he had his capable wives.
Tanya moved to intercept.
She silently ascended while the men like Captain Praezen, Captain Lightsky, Founder Alstreim and Klade were trembling under the undulations. The latter two had it even worse as they felt like they were going to faint, their bodies crushed within the wave of a finger.
The formidable power of an Autarch was now directed at them without a hint of mercy.
However, the ladies aboard didn’t let them lose hope.
None of them trembled and the Autarch also picked up the strangeness of this scene.
A bunch of Immortal Emperors weren’t kneeling already?
The mere presence of an Autarch was enough to quell any uprising under them. A single wave of their hands was enough to eradicate a swathe of Immortal Emperors. Who in their right minds would dare stand up to them?
"Who are you all?" His brows narrowed.
His first thought was that he was dealing with people from an Upper Realm. Who else would be daring to kill on his Metenoa Family territory?
However, he saw that the black-robed figure at the forefront, ascending towards him didn’t answer.
Tanya appeared at the altitude of the Metenoa Family’s Autarch. She moved her hand, and an icy sword appeared in her grasp. It wasn’t a manifestation of her icy energy but the sword her master gifted her. The moment it appeared, it rang like the sound of a string cutting through the air.
Her undulations, focused and concentrated didn’t leave any hint to be discovered other than the fact that her cultivation was at Level Five Immortal Emperor Stage.
It was such a puny level in the Autarch’s eyes.
His senses didn’t discover anything special as he could see through their robes and discover their features.
Five men and five women. Seven Immortal Emperors and three Immortal Kings. There wasn’t anything surprising about them.
Yet for some reason, he couldn’t shrug off the feeling that he was in danger right now, causing him to raise his hand and punch out. The entirety of heaven and earth energy moved on his command, creating a vacuum that disabled every force of energy to enter into a quagmire, meaning that attacks expend a large amount of energy for even moving through air from one inch to another.
It was like the difference between a fish swimming in clear water and a swamp. Swimming in a swamp would expend more energy due to the amount of impurities in it but here, there wasn’t even water for the energy to move, making it so that it was no different from passing through mud.
"Heh! If you’re going to use a talisman, then forget it!"
The Metenoa Family’s Autarch sneered at Tanya, thinking she was faking a sword strike and was going to send a talisman instead.
Most talismans use the surrounding heaven and earth’s energy to fuel their attack. Some talismans have their own energy stored in them but those are rare and expensive. However, there were some talismans that did both, using the surrounding heaven and earth energy and also internal energy.
They are extremely expensive and too powerful.
Now that he had removed the heaven and earth energy from the area, he wanted to see how he was going to be in danger.
"...!"
However, his scalp turned numb.
"Frigid Veil Sword Second Style: Vital Swallow~"
Tanya slashed the icy-silver sword diagonally and stabbed in a single move, her figure heading towards him. She floated like a fairy and stung like a demoness right on the Metenoa Family Autarch’s chest, her speed incredibly instantaneous when she moved from one end to the other.
The Metenoa Family’s Autarch staggered in the air, hurriedly grasping his chest as he felt an invasive ice energy spread throughout his dantian. It pierced his body as an icy flash shot past him, causing him to look shocked.
A wave of blood coursed through his throat and dripped from his lips before he turned to look behind as he saw the black-haired woman with an expression full of disbelief but also overwhelming anger.
He couldn’t tell why a mere Level Five Immortal Emperor was able to harm him!
"..."
Tanya looked surprised.
She had confidence that this move alone was enough for her to eliminate the threat but it seemed like she was wrong. She had to admit that an Autarch’s body was on another level. However, she wasn’t in any hurry to make another move.
"You... how did you...?"
The Metenoa Family’s Autarch pointed at her and looked incensed beyond compare, his anger causing spatial cracks to appear around him, yet he couldn’t muster much of his energy.
Tanya’s lips curled ever so lightly.
The Frigid Veil Sword Style’s Second Technique was incredibly powerful but it was a sealing technique at its core. By now, she knew his dantian was fully encased in ice, disallowing him to muster any energy and could only fight using the energy in his veins but even those pathways are freezing up right now.
The Vital Swallow was a technique that caused a slow, painful death if it failed to kill in a single strike as it also rapidly freeze their blood essence.
Ice started encasing the Metenoa Family Autarch’s flesh, his movements becoming slower.
However, Tanya knew the Metenoa Family’s Autarch could escape this if he just were to escape using his soul body. She flicked her hand as the sword slashed across space. An icy wave of sword energy flashed, causing him to quickly dodge but abruptly, a pair of spears stabbed into his shoulders, suppressing him.
"You-!"
He turned around, wanting to destroy that sneaky person with a wave of his hand. How could an Immortal Emperor survive?
However, he saw that nothing had happened. Instead, his hand was pierced by another spear.
In fact, he recognized they weren’t spears but scythes of a fey.
He raised his gaze and chanced upon a third eye shining a sapphire light at him.
"...!"
Instantly, he could feel his entire cultivation forcefully sealed. What’s more, his soul couldn’t leave his body, making him truly panic. He quickly whipped out a talisman!
