Chapter 1992: Greater Strength
Davis became anxious with this thought.
If it was true, Ellia wouldn’t be caught by Myria and be made to experience the consequences, right?
He wanted to warn her that she shouldn’t do anything silly and just wait for him, but he couldn’t allow Myria to know of Ellia’s intentions either.
’Maybe I’m just overthinking...’
Perhaps, Ellia just purely wanted to show off. After all, she still possessed an excited smile behind her veil, which he could feel through her sparkling eyes.
"Alright, warm-up is over. Show me what you truly got."
Davis took a step forward. The hole on his purple robe was replaced by martial energy that imitated the appearance of his robe, causing him to look as though he didn’t take a hit before.
"Watch out then~"
Ellia giggled as she shot forward like a sharp arrow that was unleashed from a bowstring quickly appeared before Davis. The five-kilometer martial domains around her changed colors, but before Davis could even perceive what the laws they embodied, Ellia’s fist came swinging at him, abruptly becoming covered by a metallic gleam.
*Bang!~*
Davis also unleashed the Earth Dragon’s Overbearing Fist, his fist becoming strengthened many times as he clashed with Ellia.
Ellia’s fist was extremely powerful, enough to stop his attack. It was unknown what kind of technique she used, but it seemed similar, having the ability to amplify her force on top of having her fist enhanced by earth and metal martial domains.
Their fists connected, trying to gain the upper hand.
However, Davis’s eyes flashed with a hint of surprise.
It could be said that she could’ve sent him flying like a kite that had its strings cut with that punch if he hadn’t used Earth Dragon’s Overbearing Fist.
In the eyes of the people, what they saw was a flash of golden light before the ground below them shattered fifty meters in radius below. If it had reached a kilometer, then the Peak-Level Spirit Stones used as a power source for the barrier could be seen. However, the barrier also protected the underground, so the impact of their attacks stopped at fifty meters.
Nonetheless, they exchanged tens of fists the next moment, their surroundings becoming a complete mess filled with rubble that the spectators became unable to see anything.
Inside the dusty atmosphere, Davis and Ellia were unaffected. They continued battling without coming to a stop.
Fires emerged from Ellia’s feet as she struck Davis’s leg, but he moved his leg and blocked it with a knee covered by hardened scales upon using Earth Dragon’s Hardened Scales in tandem with Earth Dragon’s Overbearing Fist.
*Bang!~* *Bang!~* *Bang!~*
Light dawned, fires raved with intensity, water shrouded with heaviness, the wind blew like a breeze, earth contracted robustly, and metal struck with fury.
Ellia constantly changed the attribute of her martial energy, giving Davis a headache as he sometimes had difficulty following her movements and strikes. The change in her domain was only visible after she had clad herself in that attribute, and sometimes, her domain didn’t change, causing him to become fooled.
After all, one didn’t need to activate a particular domain to attack with that particular energy, except the force of the attack would be lesser than when using along with a domain.
With his attack speed and might, Davis could only protect his head. His entire body was a free punching bag for Ellia, although he blocked most of her attacks with his arms. Only the fast ones that used light and wind martial energy were capable of rushing past his first line of defense and, when she did so, instantly changed the nature to earth or metal, causing him to stagger.
Davis retreated two steps every time her earth or metal-clad fist struck him. Otherwise, he would find himself quickly under a barrage of fists and flurry of kicks, each intending to strike him but was easily impeded by his bodily defense alone, sometimes by the hardened scales.
The problem was that Ellia wasn’t allowing him to counterattack. If not for her speedy movements that could change into one of a fatal sharp blade at any time, he would’ve counterattacked. However, it wasn’t to say that his attacks didn’t connect to her. It did, but it ended up mitigated by her water laws before blazing fire attacked him.
*Crack!~*
Davis’s fist experienced a crack. It was not the sound of his knuckle breaking but the sound of the hardened scale shattering. The scale was repeatedly attacked by water and fire in the past twenty exchanges, making Davis’s brows heavily narrowed as he realized that she was breaking his scales with water and fire tempering method, making his defense become brittle.
"Hmph!"
He snorted and spread his arms, abruptly becoming defenseless
"Earth Dragon’s Rumbling Quake!"
Abruptly, his earthen martial domain quaked along with his incantation and unleashed a terrifying earthen might.
Ellia’s pupils shrunk before an unbelievable force hit her, sending her flying. Despite water and earth martial energy forming a remarkable defensive layer in front of her, she was sent flying. Her two active martial domains, one earth and the other water, constantly trembled before they became stable, and when it became stable, Ellia’s body regained balance as though they aided her.
Just now, she had felt a humongous might crushing her. If she did not allow herself to be sent flying, she felt that she could’ve ended up injured.
On the other hand, Davis had enough of a fly swinging around, so he sent it flying away. However, he couldn’t help but possess a faint doubt.
"Davis, do you know that I don’t specialize in these laws?"
"...?"
Davis blinked as that was a shocker for him. She possessed more powerful laws in store? Could it be Greater Laws?
"Correct."
Ellia nodded as though she had heard his thoughts, "The multitude of things in this world exists through the presence of space and time. If I couldn’t get the slightest grasp of it, then I would find it quite difficult to live in this world and even the so-called immortal realm."
’Of course, your other incarnation is an old monster, so you should know Space Laws and Time Laws...’
Davis inwardly sweat buckets. He no longer possessed complete confidence in beating her with his Body Tempering Cultivation alone as she filled the gap of the Earth Dragon’s superiority by using two martial domains at the same time.
But now, she was going to replace her two martial domains with Space Laws and Time Laws?
What kind of concept was this?
The spectators who heard Fairy Myria’s words were shocked beyond compare, and so were the Great Righteous Sect Leaders.
Ellia walked forwards at a slow pace, but each step she took allowed her to traverse hundreds of meters. The two perfect domains that signified the usage of Primary Laws began changing color. One of them became entrenched in a purple, but it wasn’t completely purple. Instead, there seemed to be many ripples of black sprinkling the domain.
As for the other domain, it disappeared.
Davis’s pupils constricted. Was time invisible?
He couldn’t even tell if she was using Time Laws or not!
"Watch out!"
Ellia’s voice resounded from a distance, but halfway, the remaining word of the voice fell right beside his ears.
Davis instinctively struck beside him with his fist when his hand heavily weighed on something before an immense pressure pulled him into the void. His fist was disappearing into a black swirl conjured by Ellia’s two hands right between her abdomen.
Abruptly, a fist struck his face, sending him flying.
Davis’s silhouette was flung through the air, but before he could hit the barrier that was close by, he regained balance and touched his cheek that was slightly dented. Fortunately, knowing the fabric of space became controlled to a precise degree by Ellia, he realized that his own fist was sent against him.
He couldn’t stop the momentum, nor could he summon a concentrated hardened scale in time that could absorb the impact, but he could lower the force. If not for lowering his fist’s force, he would’ve caused his head to become caved and perhaps lost many teeth.
"Heh."
Davis cracked a smirk as he moved his jaw. It felt a bit painful, as though a hammer had hit him.
"I have to admit. My fist is quite strong..."
"That’s why I sent it back to you. You’re quite a bad person to send such strong punches at a frail lady like me, Davis."
Ellia’s voice was half-grievance and half-teasing, causing Davis to chuckle.
"Well, it seems like I can only be a punching bag if I can’t attack with my fists. So you’ll have to excuse me."
*Bzzz!~*
Arcs of black lightning began to twist and churn like serpents around Davis, creating a black illumination that caused the hearts of the people to skip a beat because if one looked closely, those strands of lightning possessed the shape of a kirin from the legends.
