Chapter 1993: Veil Of Time
"Hehe, you lost! You used your Essence Gathering Cultivation!"
Ellia jumped like a little girl, causing Davis to blink.
On the other hand, the maidens of the Mystic Ice Sect were flabbergasted to see their deity-like existence acting girlish and sometimes cheeky in front of the Emperor of Death. They understood that the two of them had some history from their exchange of words, but it shouldn’t this exaggerated, right?
Unfortunately, they didn’t know that it wasn’t Myria but Ellia, who was having fun at the moment.
"Indeed, I lost the initial exchange, but don’t think it will be the same for our remaining exchanges in this battle."
Davis shook his head with a faint smile.
Honestly, if he used his Earth Dragon’s might at full prowess, the chances that he would bring harm to her body were greater under the immense pressure. He wasn’t willing to harm her. Therefore, he decided to use his Essence Gathering Cultivation which was stronger than his Body Tempering Cultivation. Furthermore, if he used both his essence energy and martial energy, he had calculated that Ellia would quickly lose, so he wasn’t willing to throw both energies into the mix.
He wanted to battle her more. It was fun despite the threat of Myria, and with Ellia repeatedly telling him that she didn’t want his help, he had to see what she had in order to convince him. He hoped that she had something to convince him. Otherwise, he could only forcefully move with his plan, which he began having doubts about because from his sightings so far, Ellia had a certain degree of freedom, like when she is having fun at the moment, which he couldn’t deny otherwise.
However, the question was, would it last long?
*Boom!~*
The tiles underneath Davis broke as he disappeared.
’Fast...!’
Ellia’s eyes widened as her lips stopped grinning. Her spatial prowess quickly expanded as her martial energy surged in greater amounts, filling up the five-kilometer domain. The moment Davis appeared inside her spatial martial domain, she sensed it, but he was already in front of her when she reacted.
Davis didn’t directly attack her but clapped his hands.
"Thunder-Lightning Kirin Burst!"
Ellia looked above, shifting her hands that were ready to counter Davis above, "Space Overturns the Skies~"
*Rumble!~*
The emerging black lightning strands that covered one hundred and eighty degrees radius from above were plunging towards Ellia like heavenly punishment. However, space suddenly constricted, causing the lightning strands to be crushed by the weight of the space.
Davis’s expression fluctuated between a bit of surprise, but his hand was already moving towards Ellia to capture her neck. His palm made contact with her jade white neck. However, his pupils constricted to see it passing through like she didn’t exist.
’Illusion Laws...!’
However, Davis inwardly shook his head as he felt the spatial energy still radiating, "Spatial Displacement?"
"Correct."
Ellia moved sideways and retreated. The place Davis’s hand and Ellia’s neck interconnected rippled as though he was merely swiping through a holographic image. However, Davis knew that it was certainly real, except his hand was truly somewhere else, perhaps between the fabric of space and the void instead of Ellia’s neck for some time.
The Mandate Emperor and the others became shocked.
They had heard about spatial displacement before.
However, even the Vast Sky Emperor couldn’t perform such a move!? Who under the heavens was this Myria!?
They remained shocked because Fairy Myria kept throwing out one impossible thing after another. Even if she was a supreme genius, this shouldn’t be possible, right?
Nonetheless, Davis simultaneously chased Ellia. He didn’t let her escape.
Thousands of black lightning bolts appeared around and shot towards Ellia. Each of them radiated an immense might capable of taking down an average Peak-Level Law Rune Stage Cultivator as they rattled the skies. The spatial martial domain was unable to inhibit them as they pierced through.
However, Ellia clasped her hands, made a few hand signs, and unleashed some kind of technique with her palms raised.
Space quaked, and everything around him felt like it was crumbling apart as ripples were present all over the space. Each ripple caused his black lightning strands to be swallowed, and the strange thing was, just like that, he lost connection with them, allowing him to understand that they were sent out of the void.
’Is this because space here is fragile, giving her a massive advantage?’
Davis thought when he suddenly saw a second martial domain superimpose over her spatial martial domain.
"Now you’re using space and wind. Very well!"
Davis laughed as a fiery ember burst into existence out of him. He looked like a smoldering trunk of wood as crimson-gold flames surged into the air, covering a large space. Although it looked similar to the Fire Dragon’s flames, it was intrinsically different with its fires possessing an apocalyptic might similar to its lightning which contained the property of extinction.
Ellia’s expression was solemn as her gaze was full of concentration. She didn’t dare underestimate the combined attacks of the Blazing Thunderlight Kirin’s fire and lightning, causing her to unleash a technique instead of a normal attack.
"Spatial Windstorm!~"
Davis’s pupils narrowed as he heard a dangerous term. His scalp almost turned numb as he quickly made hand signs himself, connecting fire and lightning.
*Bang!~*
The burst of crimson-gold flames was shredded apart by the swelling spatial wave filled with blades.
However, when the spatial windstorm shot past the ember of flames, a wheel of yin and yang, no, fire and lightning, filled with the power of destruction, headed towards Ellia like a drill while swirling in immense speed caused the space around to tear. Not only was its speed extremely fast, it contained an explosive might that rattled the heaven earth, causing countless spatial cracks to appear around the edge of the barrier, which shocked the people.
"Destructive Wheel of Firestorm."
The New Era Battle Arena fell silent before Davis’s voice fell.
Simultaneously, a huge explosion erupted in the middle that sent both Davis and Ellia flying in opposite directions like a kite that had its strings cut. The barrier visibly cracked in front of everyone’s gaze, causing their expressions to change.
The inside of the barrier was full of spatial storms, appearing that they could burst out at any moment once the barrier collapsed.
The people finally became afraid.
If the barrier shattered, it became evident that they would be done for!
However, three zones were instantly covered as the Mandate Emperor, Karmic Guardian Emperor, and the Starnova Emperor appeared, willing to protect the audience. Their expressions were trembling as they saw the apocalyptic situation inside.
Just now, their clash reached the level of two levels higher than Peak-Level Ninth Stage. However, they instantly shook their heads. Such heaven-defying crossing of six levels wasn’t possible. This burst of strength was only because their attacks clashed and destroyed the space inside. Nonetheless, since they could see that the Emperor of Death and Fairy Myria were at the edges of the opposite sides of the barrier, safe and sound, they relaxed.
Davis narrowed his brows as he looked at his slightly scorched hands.
It wasn’t the aftermath of their attacks but the backlash of not using the technique correctly.
’Haha, looks like I should practice the Blazing Thunderlight Kirin’s Firestorm World Ode’s techniques properly...’
Davis wryly laughed before his hands began to heal slowly through the power of his dragon blood.
The Earth Dragon possessed high regenerative properties, more so than the Fire Dragon, Golden Dragon, and the Wind Dragon but not higher than the Water Dragon.
Within a few seconds, the burns healed. However, Davis wondered what would happen if he fused Blazing Thunderlight Kirin’s fire and lightning.
Of course, Davis didn’t fuse fire and lightning. All he did was conjoin the two forces, allowing them to wreak better havoc. If he truly fused them, the might would be on another level, probably collapsing the battle stage altogether and even destroying the surroundings, affecting the New Era Battle Arena. However, combining berserk energies was easier said than done.
Natalya had a few years of experience, while he had none.
Moreover, even Natalya found gentle type fusion hard, so how could he fuse berserk yang energies? His hands would probably explode if he skipped baby steps and went straight to fusion.
’Unless...’
Davis thought about a destructive fire spirit. With Eldia and that fire spirit helping him, fusing would be easier compared to blindly searching a path of fusion.
At this moment, Ellia came into his view as the spatial storms slowly receded, although many of them were still present, except they slowly became smaller before they completely disappeared.
Ellia remained unharmed. Her icy-blue robe faintly swayed in the air along with her white hair, imbuing a perfect scene in Davis’s eyes amidst the torn apart world. He looked into her eyes. They possessed a hint of pride, but it did not feel like she was feeling pride for herself.
Nonetheless, Davis narrowed his brows, sensing that Ellia’s martial energy was down by forty percent. Meanwhile, he hadn’t incurred such usage as he switched to Essence Gathering Cultivation.
However, his doubt was over something else.
Although Ellia had shown him the advantage of using different laws, including Greater Laws, she had only displayed far few techniques. To be honest, he felt that none of them were more powerful than his techniques from the Earth Dragon’s Domineering Art. Only this Spatial Windstorm and Space Overturn The Skies entered his eyes but perhaps because they were techniques using Greater Laws, they were powerful, so he didn’t include them.
Was she hiding the truly powerful techniques of Primary Laws to catch him off-guard? Or was it, as she said, that she doesn’t specialize in these laws and hence, couldn’t care less about learning techniques in it?
Thinking like this, he felt that he could learn more, but there was curious about something else.
"Aren’t you going to use Time Laws?"
Davis asked with an urging tone. He wanted to see Time Laws in its energized form. Perhaps, Ellia also possesses wild techniques of Time Laws that he could gain insights from. After all, just by closely watching and sensing Ellia use Space Laws, he felt that he could seclude himself and comprehend Space Laws more. However, there was little time for that now, and he wanted more.
"Time... that’s a bit difficult...."
However, Ellia shook her head.
"...?"
Davis couldn’t help but blink.
Even a monster like Myria couldn’t comprehend Time Laws? Or was she not suited for it? But didn’t she say that if she could not learn Space and Time Laws, then she could not live better in this world and the so-called immortal realms?
Or was Ellia unable to use Time Laws because of Myria suppressing her?
Davis couldn’t understand what she meant when a sudden thought struck him.
Unless.... she meant that she couldn’t use Time Laws here? In the Fifty-Two Territories?
