Li Jingzhe nodded a little. "You're from the Heavenly Wolf Race and Li Luo possesses Heavenly Dragon blood. It'll only be to your advantage if you stay close to him. In the future, you may need his help to reach the Nine-tailed Stage."
Although the Heavenly Wolf Race was not as respectable as the Dragon Race in the world of spirit beasts, it was still a peak existence. Li Jingzhe could tell that the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf did not possess particularly pure blood. When placed amongst the members of its race, it would only be considered ordinary. If it wanted to reach the Nine-tailed Stage, it would be close to impossible with its strength alone. The Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf's eyes lit up when it heard those words. It understood what Li Jingzhe was implying. After some hesitation, it lowered its head to the ground.
"I will keep your advice in mind, Great Sir."
Li Jingzhe nodded in approval. Although he knew about the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf in the bracelet, he had always treated it as one of Li Luo’s tools, not paying much attention to it. However, he had seen how the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf helped Li Luo tide through difficulties time and again over the past few months. Whether it was truly willing or not, it was undeniable that it would be a strong boon to Li Luo if it stayed by his side. As such, Li Jingzhe didn't mind helping it out to aid Li Luo.
"The Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf will stay with me for the time being. Meanwhile, you can search for the Golden Stone Spirit Clam Pearl. We'll attempt the Crimson Pill Blood Refinement Resonance Art afterwards and see if the Heavenly Dragon resonance is within reach."
Li Luo nodded happily.
It seemed that this visit had reaped an exceptional amount of benefits today.
At the same time, he couldn't help but sigh a little.
Seeing all this planning and preparation done for him, could this be what the others called...
A grandfather's overflowing love...?
After enjoying a bowl of delicious fish-head soup with Li Jingzhe, Li Luo casually took his leave. The Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf watched his departing figure with somewhat uneasy eyes.
This was a rare and prized opportunity for the Five-tailed Heavenly Wolf to receive guidance from Li Jingzhe. However, it didn't know what kind of training it would get. Things probably wouldn't be easy.
Perhaps its life would be at risk.
But it was too late to give up now. Li Jingzhe wouldn't entertain such thoughts.
Li Luo left the Heavenly Dragon Pavilion and went straight back to the Dragon's Fang Guardians. On the way, he pa.s.sed by Jiang Qing'e, who was returning with the Guardian Army.
The training ground was bustling with chatter. Many members of the Dragon's Fang Guardians had just finished their missions for the day and were taking a rest there.
When Li Luo arrived, everyone turned their attention over to him and then start laughing.
"Fourth Grand Commander, you're finally out."
Li Luo had shut himself in his room for a month to cultivate as he was working on his Thunder Dragon resonance, so hadn't partic.i.p.ated in any missions thus far.
Li Luo smiled in response to their greetings. He continued making his way towards the center of the training ground, where members were talking about the highlights of recent days. Meanwhile, Jiang Qing'e was so beautiful that she had become the focus of many. Most members were in awe of her beauty. From time to time, they even stole glances at her.
Her reputation had skyrocketed over the past month. Whether it was in terms of looks or talent, she had no equal. There was no other female that came close to her amongst the Five Guardian Armies.
In the past, there was Li Hongque, Li Hongli, and Lu Qingmei. They were the three beauties of the Five Guardian Armies. However, Jiang Qing'e's arrival had demonstrated to the rest what it meant to stand head and shoulders above the rest.
Li Luo also stopped by to admire the brilliant girl in the crowd. Her skin was as white as cream and her beautiful cheeks were like delicate, white porcelain that shone with a crystal dazzle. This was combined with her deep and mysterious golden eyes, tall black eyebrows, and a jade-like nose. Her appearance was perfection personified. A single look at her would elicit admiration.
The elites from the Dragon's Fang Guardians surrounded her, smiling brightly and trying to strike up a conversation. Jiang Qing'e simply smiled back. It was a light and friendly smile, yet there was an elusive sense of distance.
If anyone else saw this reaction, people might have thought that she was simply arrogant. However, it felt natural and expected to see this from Jiang Qing'e, perhaps because of how otherworldly she was.
In a sense, this feeling originated from her natural charisma.
At the very least, it seemed like Jiang Qing'e had become more popular than Luo Jiang, the senior Dragon Fang Envoy of the Dragon's Fang Guardian.
Every time she went on a mission, the Thousand Guardians would all fight to volunteer themselves.
Li Luo wasn't too surprised by this. He had no doubts about how appealing she was to others. Back during the incident at House Luolan, Jiang Qing'e was just a student that had just enrolled in the Astral Sage College. Yet she was able to rally support for House Luolan, winning the hearts of others, and she even fought against Pei Hao to a standstill.
If not for Jiang Qing'e, Li Luo wouldn't have been able to survive the Housemeet. Pei Hao would have finished him off.
As Li Luo quietly admired her from a distance, she sensed his gaze. She slowly looked over, and everyone else turned to see what had caught her attention. A smile appeared on her lips, like a lotus blooming on a sacred mountain.
Pearly-white teeth peeked out from beneath her red lips.
The elusive sense of distance one felt when looking at her seemed to have vanished all of a sudden.
It was like a startled wild goose. The whispers in the surroundings died down as they all turned towards Li Luo.
"Fourth Grand Commander." Snapping back to their senses, they greeted him. Many men were envious of him deep in their hearts.
"Have you finished cultivating? Has your resonance grade increased?" Jiang Qing'e asked.
She clearly knew what Li Luo had been trying to do in seclusion.
Li Luo shook his head with a smile. "It's not that easy. However, it was not a complete waste of time. I've gotten some direction on what to do next."
Jiang Qing'e swiped at her pocket sphere on her wrist. A delicate, wooden box appeared in her hand, and she pa.s.sed it to Li Luo. "These are eighth-grade liquids and lights that I've obtained from my recent missions. You'll need them if you're planning on increasing your resonance grade now."
"It's fine. What I need now isn't that. You can keep them for yourself," Li Luo replied in a hurry.
"Eighth-grade ones are too low for me. I don't really need them," Jiang Qing'e said.
Li Luo sighed. This plump white goose was simply too harsh with her words.
However, what she had said was true. Jiang Qing'e resonances were all ninth-grade, so eighth-grade liquids and lights were indeed of little use to her.
"In that case, I'll take them," Li Luo said helplessly as he received the wooden box.
There was no need for any more polite words, given their relations.h.i.+p.
The elites from the Dragon's Fang Guardians watched this scene with perplexed looks. Jiang Qing'e was an unrivaled talent that everyone was trying to win over. They would offer her all kinds of rare and precious presents. Yet a person like her would so readily hand the dragon essences she had earned in her missions to Li Luo just? Was it really possible for someone's life to be that good?
At the same time, Li Fengyi transmitted a message to Li Luo directly. "Third Brother, I think it's best for you to show some restraint in the open. Jealousy can easily drive a man crazy, and if you keep this up, I am afraid you'll ruin your own reputation in the Dragon's Fang Guardians."
Li Luo turned around to see Li Fengyi, Li Hongyou, and Li Jingtao. They were smiling as they watched the couple express their affection for each other in the open
He shrugged helplessly, as if to say that he was innocent. Jiang Qing'e and him were officially engaged, so it was only natural for them to care about one another. Jiang Qing'e did not find any problem with that either. It was just a few bottles of eighth-grade liquids and lights. In order to help her with her injury, Li Luo had gifted her a Nine Marks Sacred Heart Lotus, something that even upper-grade Dukes would covet. As a result, this minor gift didn't mean much to her.
They had been together for so many years that they wouldn't bother with these little things anymore.
"Speaking of which, are any of you familiar with the Golden Stone Spirit Clam Pearl?" Li Luo suddenly asked.
Since Li Jingzhe had pointed him in the right direction, he would need to gather this last ingredient as soon as possible. After that, he would be able to practice the Crimson Pill Blood Refinement Resonance Art and evolve his dragon resonance.
